It was a great honor for Midnight Boheme to be selected as the designer to the Mayor of the City of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell, and to redesign Mayor Cantrell's logo, utilizing the infamous fleur de lis of the city into a new stately seal with wrought iron flourishes.
Working with the City of New Orleans and the Mayor's office, Midnight Boheme has enjoyed designing a new certificate folder and document complete with the mayor's newly designed logo and city seal.
The City's official seal has been in effect for many years, however its artistic detail has withered over time. As officially commissioned designer of the mayor's office, Midnight Boheme was asked to give the seal a "facelift" to make those elements more proficient to the eye and more poignant in its detail. The designer was proud to conquer this task!
On Juneteeth, the Mayor of New Orleans passed a new Proclamation using the Midnight Boheme designed Proclamation certificate design, hereby honoring "the anniversary of the emancipation of the last remaining African American slaves and celebrating the cultural and historical contributions of freed African Americans to this country and our City." Midnight Boheme is honored to have contributed in some small way to this great achievement.
